The Process of Planning a Wedding

Planning a Wedding

Planning a wedding can be stressful however, it is important to try and remind yourself that an occasion such as a wedding only happens once. Therefore, although it can be stressful and chaotic, it is important to remind yourself to try and have a good time.

The budget

Setting a budget before planning anything is wise. Once you set the budget you then can revolve your wedding plans around the budget. For instance, if you decide on floral decorations only to find that the decorations you decided on are too expensive, then you will have to go through the hassle all over again. However, if you decide on a budget first, you can then put together a bouquet that is within your budget.

Having a budget will also help you keep track of how much you are spending for the wedding. It will make it easy when it comes to prioritizing different aspects of the wedding. For example, you may want to set aside more money for the food and the band as opposed to the floral decorations.

A vision

Once you have set a wedding budget, you can then think about the kind of wedding that you want. Think about the kind of vibe you want for your wedding. Do you want a formal, big wedding or do you want to keep it simple and low key? Do you want it to be outside or indoors? Thinking about questions like this can help you create a vision of what you want your wedding to be like.

If you are someone who knows what they want their wedding to be like then you will likely already have a vision in mind even when planning the budget however, if you are someone who has not given your wedding a thought until you got engaged, then asking yourself questions with regard to what you want your wedding to look like can be helpful.

It can be easy to get lost in the planning of a wedding when you fail to give too much attention to what you are going to wear. It is important that you do not put your outfit on hold until the last minute.  Everyone wants to not only look good but to also feel good in what they are wearing therefore, if you leave it until the last minute there may not be enough time to do the necessary alterations or to get the dress you really want.

Starting the dress hunt early is a good idea as this will give you the time to look at the different options of wedding dresses available such as sheath wedding dresses, tea-length wedding dresses or crepe wedding dresses.  Being aware of the different options available will allow you to decide which style looks best on you.

The food

When ordering food for a wedding, it would be helpful if you were to have a rough idea of how many people you will be ordering for. As you want to ensure there is enough for everyone and that the food does not run out, over-ordering is a good idea. However, you also don’t want to go overboard and over-order too much. Therefore, having a rough idea of how many people will be attending will be helpful. In order for you to get an estimated number, you will need to send out the invitations early and you will need to stress on the invited guest to RSVP as then you will be able to plan the food and drinks accordingly.
